Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today – how often life is shaped by the rumblings of discontent.

Acts 6:1 NLT

[1] But as the believers rapidly multiplied, there were rumblings of discontent. The Greek-speaking believers complained about the Hebrew-speaking believers, saying that their widows were being discriminated against in the daily distribution of food.

Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today- the deception of self reliance when I see partially and incompletely.

1 Corinthians 13:9,12-13 NLT

[9]now our knowledge is partial and incomplete, and even the gift of prophecy reveals only part of the whole picture! [12] Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely. [13] Three things will last forever-faith, hope, and love-and the greatest of these is love.

Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today – the picture of the body of Christ is not nice imagery it’s a spiritual reality.

1 Corinthians 12:25-27 NLT

[25] This makes for harmony among the members, so that all the members care for each other. [26] If one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it, and if one part is honored, all the parts are glad. [27] All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it.

Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today- you can’t stop temptation, but you can stand against it.

1 Corinthians 10:13 NLT

[13] The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.

Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today – I can be right or I can walk alongside?

1 Corinthians 9:19-21 NLT

[19] Even though I am a free man with no master, I have become a slave to all people to bring many to Christ. [20] When I was with the Jews, I lived like a Jew to bring the Jews to Christ. When I was with those who follow the Jewish law, I too lived under that law. Even though I am not subject to the law, I did this so I could bring to Christ those who are under the law. [21] When I am with the Gentiles who do not follow the Jewish law, I too live apart from that law so I can bring them to Christ.

Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today – I can be free and abusive.

1 Corinthians 8:9-12 NLT

[9] But you must be careful so that your freedom does not cause others with a weaker conscience to stumble. [10] For if others see you-with your “superior knowledge”-eating in the temple of an idol, won’t they be encouraged to violate their conscience by eating food that has been offered to an idol? [11] So because of your superior knowledge, a weak believer for whom Christ died will be destroyed. [12] And when you sin against other believers by encouraging them to do something they believe is wrong, you are sinning against Christ.

Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today – God’s freedom comes with personal responsibility, not law enforcement orders.

1 Corinthians 6:12 NLT

[12] You say, “I am allowed to do anything”-but not everything is good for you. And even though “I am allowed to do anything,” I must not become a slave to anything.”

Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today – you can be in the kingdom of God but not living a kingdom life.

1 Corinthians 3:1-2 NLT

[1] Dear brothers and sisters, when I was with you I couldn’t talk to you as I would to spiritual people. I had to talk as though you belonged to this world or as though you were infants in Christ. [2] I had to feed you with milk, not with solid food, because you weren’t ready for anything stronger. And you still aren’t ready.

Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today – I live not from here.

John 18:36 NLT

[36] Jesus answered, “My Kingdom is not an earthly kingdom. If it were, my followers would fight to keep me from being handed over to the Jewish leaders. But my Kingdom is not of this world.”

Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today – salvation, righteousness, and freedom from judgment are revealed and become my personal shaping story only through the ongoing work of the Spirit.

John 16:7-11 NLT

[7] But in fact, it is best for you that I go away because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you. [8] And when he comes, he will convict the world of its sin, and of God’s righteousness, and of the coming judgment. [9] The world’s sin is that it refuses to believe in me. [10] Righteousness is available because I go to the Father, and you will see me no more. [11] Judgment will come because the ruler of this world has already been judged.

Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today – I am fully accepted by God, so let my posture towards others be shaped by God’s posture towards me.

Romans 15:7 NLT

[7] Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory.

Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today- it is difficult not to be seduced by the culture around me. It’s hard to towel up when the world wants me to demand to be served.

John 13:4-5,12-15 NIV

[4] so he got up from the meal, took off his outer clothing, and wrapped a towel around his waist. [5] After that, he poured water into a basin and began to wash his disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel that was wrapped around him. [12] When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them. [13] “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. [14] Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. [15] I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.

Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today- what is it in us as people that want to work our way to right relationship with God? What’s the attraction that makes us enthusiastically work hard for His acceptance?

Romans 10:1-3 NLT

[1] Dear brothers and sisters, the longing of my heart and my prayer to God is for the people of Israel to be saved. [2] I know what enthusiasm they have for God, but it is misdirected zeal. [3] For they don’t understand God’s way of making people right with himself. Refusing to accept God’s way, they cling to their own way of getting right with God by trying to keep the law.

Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today- God is not known through study He is only known through intimacy.

1 Corinthians 2:9-13 NLT

[9] That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.” [10] But it was to us that God revealed these things by his Spirit. For his Spirit searches out everything and shows us God’s deep secrets. [11] No one can know a person’s thoughts except that person’s own spirit, and no one can know God’s thoughts except God’s own Spirit. [12] And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us. [13] When we tell you these things, we do not use words that come from human wisdom. Instead, we speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit’s words to explain spiritual truths.
