Matthew 14:14 – Deeply moved with compassion!

Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today – the creator God is intimate and present to me.

Matthew 14:14 TPT
[14] So when Jesus landed he had a huge crowd waiting for him. Seeing so many people, his heart was deeply moved with compassion toward them, so he healed all the sick who were in the crowd.

Matthew 17:22-23 – You can only see what your eyes will see

Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today – we miss so much when we are fixed in our version of truth and unable to posture ourselves for discovery. So much of God is mystery and you will never engage in mystery from a defensive fixed position. Mystery is discovered through childlike openness to discovery and a teachable spirit.

Matthew 17:22-23 TPT
[22] When they all gathered together in Galilee, Jesus said to them, “The Son of Man is going to be betrayed and turned over to his enemies. [23] They will kill him and in three days he will be resurrected.” When the disciples heard these words they were devastated.

John 16:33 – How do deal with trouble and turmoil?

Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today – I am not guaranteed a free pass from trouble and sorrow, this is not the promise of scripture, in actual fact I am promised that I will walk through sorrow and trouble. The question is how do I walk? Where do I turn, what is my coping, or my triumphing mechanism, when these times inevitably come to share my journey? Where is my peace and rest in these storms, where is my hope and overcoming?

John 16:33 TPT
[33] And everything I’ve taught you is so that the peace which is in me will be in you and will give you great confidence as you rest in me. For in this unbelieving world you will experience trouble and sorrows, but you must be courageous, for I have conquered the world!”

Romans 2:4 – kindness leads to licence or repentance?

Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today – what do I do with Gods kindness towards me? Do I know it? Do I use it and abuse it? Or does it lead me into full life?

Romans 2:4  TPT
[4] Do the riches of his extraordinary kindness make you take him for granted and despise him? Haven’t you experienced how kind and understanding he has been to you? Don’t mistake his tolerance for acceptance. Do you realize that all the wealth of his extravagant kindness is meant to melt your heart and lead you into repentance?

John 7:16-17 – Study or Sit?

Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today – how do you know the ways of God? Study the word or sit at his feet. The first must lead to the second, for all real knowing comes from intimate engagement.

John 7:16-17 TPT
[16] So Jesus responded, “I don’t teach my own ideas, but the truth revealed to me by the One who sent me. [17] If you want to test my teachings and discover where I received them, first be passionate to do God’s will, and then you will be able to discern if my teachings are from the heart of God or from my own opinions.

Romans 1:20 – God everywhere.

Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today – God whilst invisible has made his nature, himself, visible in creation and fully in Jesus. So knowing what God is like only evades those who refuse to stop and see. I am guilty of this.

Romans 1:20  TPT
[20] Opposition to truth cannot be excused on the basis of ignorance, because from the creation of the world, the invisible qualities of God’s nature have been made visible, such as his eternal power and transcendence. He has made his wonderful attributes easily perceived, for seeing the visible makes us understand the invisible. So then, this leaves everyone without excuse.

John 6:65 – Everyone needs enabling.

Here is the revelation that is showing my life today – we make so much of life about what we can achieve on our own, and God wants us to do nothing on our own. Love always wants to be involved and enable me to do what I can’t do on my own.

John 6:65 NIV
[65] He went on to say, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has enabled them.”

John 4:21 – Close the door and open your heart.

Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today – there is only one true place of worship, heart worship. Our buildings carry no significance and can hinder heart worship when held out as the place where we meet God.

John 4:21 TPT
[21] “Believe me, dear woman, the time has come when you won’t worship the Father on a mountain nor in Jerusalem, but in your heart.

John 2:23-25 – Known and Loved!

Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today – nothing that is kept in the dark can be healed by the light. But I will only bring into the light what I think the light can handle.

John 2:23-25 TPT
[23] While Jesus was at the Passover Feast, the number of his followers began to grow, and many gave their allegiance to him because of all the miraculous signs they had seen him doing! [24] But Jesus did not yet entrust himself to them, because he knew how fickle human hearts can be. [25] He didn’t need anyone to tell him about human nature, for he fully understood what man was capable of doing.

1 John 3:5-6,8 – Intimacy is the answer to sin

Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today – the more I am with Jesus the more I see myself, as a man with no sin. Union with him eradicates sin in me.
1 John 3:5-6,8 TPT
[5] And you know without a doubt that Jesus was revealed to eradicate sins, and there is no sin in him. Anyone who continues to live in union with him will not sin. [6] But the one who continues sinning hasn’t seen him with discernment or known him by intimate experience. [8] The reason the Son of God was revealed was to undo and destroy the works of the devil.

2 Peter 1:17 – Turn on the delight

Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today – the motivation for following Jesus must be found in the pleasure of his presence.

Luke 23:44-46 – Ripped for good

Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today – what God rips no one should try and repair. The way into God’s presence is completely open, don’t try and reestablish barriers to entry.

Luke 23:44-46 TPT
[44] It was now only midday, yet the whole world became dark for three hours as the light of the sun faded away. [45] And suddenly in the temple, the thick veil hanging in the Holy Place was ripped in two! [46] Then Jesus cried out with a loud voice, “Father, I surrender my Spirit into your hands.” And he took his last breath and died.

1 Peter 3:8-9 – Life goals!

Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today – I get life upside down in my priorities so easily and so quickly and then I wonder why life yields me what I strive for. The true goal of life is relationships of love, so sow here and reap accordingly.

1 Peter 3:8-9 TPT
[8] Now, this is the goal: to live in harmony with one another and demonstrate affectionate love, sympathy, and kindness toward other believers. Let humility describe who you are as you dearly love one another. [9] Never retaliate when someone treats you wrongly, nor insult those who insult you, but instead, respond by speaking a blessing over them because a blessing is what God promised to give you.
