Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today- the intention and desire of God is to be knowable and known, this is why Jesus came.
John 12:44-45 NLT
[44] Jesus shouted to the crowds, “If you trust me, you are trusting not only me but also God who sent me. [45] For when you see me, you are seeing the one who sent me.”
Observation
What is God like? How will God act? When you see Jesus you see God, God in flesh form. “When you see me, you are seeing the one who sent me.” God is not in the distant, He is not unknowable, He came to be known. Jesus came to show us God and then to make the way open to walk in relationship with Him. I know what God is like, I know how He acts, and I am free to live in relationship with Him. This is the heart of God – an intimate knowing relationship with me. I can not be intimate with someone who is unknown to me, so God makes himself knowable in the flesh of Jesus.
I can’t hear God speak? I hear the frustration on many people’s lips. They want to hear God speak to them. Well, firstly He speaks like Jesus. The words that come from Jesus are the words of God. He spoke them 2000 years ago and the same words flow from His mouth today. If you want to hear God speak start by listening to the words of Jesus and translate them as personally spoken to you. Take the words of Jesus and receive them as first hand from the lips of God to you. As you start to hear God’s declarations to all humanity from the lips of Jesus as personally spoken to you, you will start to have an openness to hear His personal words spoken directly into you today. Allow the words from Jesus’ lips to spark a conversation with God in your present.
Jesus is the identical representation of God. If you are asking the question – why did God do this? Ask firstly would Jesus do this? Did Jesus act this way? Is this behaviour, or this way of speaking, congruent with the life of Jesus? If the answer is no then it’s not God. Jesus revealed God perfectly to us so that we would live knowing Him intimately. Many of the things we blame God for and walk away from our relationship with Him are misinterpretations and deception. We need to not follow our feelings or our shapings of God based on our earthly Fathers or other experiences in life. God looks exactly like Jesus. This is the only true source of knowing. You will not be able to comprehend all of life’s random, unfair, difficult, hurtful circumstances, but you can know God in them, for He would do what Jesus would do.
Application
I will live knowing what God is like and hearing His voice through His incarnation in Jesus. This will be my posture and from this place, I will be open to the intimacy of relationship that God designed and desires with me. I will not believe in abstract truths, I will walk with the one in whom I place my faith.
Response
Thank you for making yourself knowable and known to me. This is the greatest blessing of my life, to know you and be known by you. Thank you that you speak to me, not just through words in the past that release life today, but in the intimacy of the present of today and the particulars of my days. I am never alone, never unknown, never without hope, always loved, always celebrated, always embraced and accepted. This was always your design and desire and I am blessed to walk in it.

Meditation truth – when I see Jesus I see God.
Consider:
Do you feel like you don’t know God? Maybe a fresh walk through the gospels with Jesus will break that feeling and you will enjoy the knowable God of His design and desire. As you witness Jesus walk and interact understand that this is what God does today, this is what He is like towards you.
Do you feel like you don’t hear God speak? Again, listen to the words of Jesus in the gospels, take them in as if spoken directly to you, and hear God elaborate upon them with beautiful intimacy as He speaks them to life in your circumstances.
