Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today – I create a me that is not my true self. I then see me in Him, the divine me, the me I always have been but lost in the journey. It’s in my encounter with Him that I discover myself and then become me. I live my revelation.
James 1:23-24 TPT
[23] If you listen to the Word and don’t live out the message you hear, you become like the person who looks in the mirror of the Word to discover the reflection of his face in the beginning. [24] You perceive how God sees you in the mirror of the Word, but then you go out and forget your divine origin.
Observation
In God, I find the true me. As I look upon Jesus I see the true me, “the reflection of my face in the beginning.” But then I go and live the false me, the small me, the me I have created. I forget my “divine origin,” I forget who I am and live according to a reflection of myself I have created. This is the true course of all spirituality to help me see my reflection in the word and my encounters with God and then to be, to live, the true me.
It’s not following rules, it’s being me. It’s not an imitation of someone else, WWJD, it’s living true to self, it’s WWID. It’s not measuring up, or becoming something I’m not, it’s being who I already am in all its fullness. It’s coming to meet with God personally, intimately, and from my encounter, I see myself and then reflect myself. It’s a becoming of who I already am, the born again, the new creation, the new man, me. It’s not a moral behavioural modification to a code of rules, it’s a transforming encounter of the heart that goes much deeper than belief and living up to what I believe, it’s an encounter that transforms me at a spirit and heart level. I see me and the encounter enables me to be me. It’s all about death and resurrection. I see myself in him, I then die to the false me I have created and become resurrected, alive, to the true self me I have encountered.
This is what God is doing with all of us, leading us into his presence so that we may have a personal revelation of who we are, and that we may live that revelation. Rules and manipulation will never kill off the small ego created me, it’s only in the depth of personal encounter with the divine is the real me, the divine-human me, the made in his image me, implanted in my heart in a way that I walk out the reflection.
Application
Be present to the presence of God and allow his intimacy to bring the revelation of the true self me. Stay in the beauty and awe of the love dance of the trinity, for it’s from the revelation of the dance that I become me.

Thank you that you made me like you, in your image. Thank you that you invite me to yourself to become myself. It’s not law and behave but come and encounter. Thank you for the life I live when I am me. It is a bigger bold and more beautiful life than the ego self me I created. Thank you that the invitation to revelation and reflection is a forever journey in your intimacy. I love this life of becoming the me I already am.
