Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today- how deceptively powerful the world is at shaping me, or how easily I can walk away from my true self and be shaped by my false identity. “Serve me” seems to be my mantra, when the true me is a servant.
Luke 22:25-27 NIV
Jesus said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them; and those who exercise authority over them call themselves Benefactors. But you are not to be like that. Instead, the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves. For who is greater, the one who is at the table, or the one who serves? Is it not the one who is at the table? But I am among you as one who serves.”
Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today- laws just lead to punishment, that’s why God did away with law. He came to save not to judge and dish out punishment.
Romans 4:14-15,25 NLT
If God’s promise is only for those who obey the law, then faith is not necessary and the promise is pointless. For the law always brings punishment on those who try to obey it. (The only way to avoid breaking the law is to have no law to break!) He was handed over to die because of our sins, and he was raised to life to make us right with God.
Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today- it’s got nothing to do with me.
Romans 3:19-20,23-24 NLT
Obviously, the law applies to those to whom it was given, for its purpose is to keep people from having excuses and to show that the entire world is guilty before God. For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.
Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today- the story of who provides for me shapes my story of generosity.
Luke 21:1-4 NLT
While Jesus was in the Temple, he watched the rich people dropping their gifts in the collection box. Then a poor widow came by and dropped in two small coins. “I tell you the truth,” Jesus said, “this poor widow has given more than all the rest of them. For they have given a tiny part of their surplus, but she, poor as she is, has given everything she has.”
Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today- it is critical that I have a clear strategy around wealth, otherwise I will be seduced into servitude.
Luke 16:9, 13 TPT
It is important that you use the wealth of this world to demonstrate your friendship with God by winning friends and blessing others…..It is impossible for a person to serve two masters at the same time. You will be forced to love one and reject the other. One master will be despised and the other will have your loyal devotion. It is no different with God and the wealth of this world. You must enthusiastically love one and definitively reject the other.”
Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today- I know my enemy and his ways.
1 John 2:15-17 TPT
Don’t set the affections of your heart on this world or in loving the things of the world. The love of the Father and the love of the world are incompatible. For all that the world can offer us-the gratification of our flesh, the allurement of the things of the world, and the obsession with status and importance-none of these things come from the Father but from the world. This world and its desires are in the process of passing away, but those who love to do the will of God live forever.
his is the revelation that is shaping my life today- my value to God is placed within me, it never diminishes, it is never tarnished in, or by, my lostness.
Luke 15:8-10 TPT
Jesus gave them another parable: “There once was a woman who had ten valuable silver coins. When she lost one of them, she swept her entire house, diligently searching every corner of her house for that one lost coin. When she finally found it, she gathered all her friends and neighbors for a celebration, telling them, ‘Come and celebrate with me! I had lost my precious silver coin, but now I’ve found it.’ That’s the way God responds every time one lost sinner repents and turns to him. He says to all his angels, ‘Let’s have a joyous celebration, for that one who was lost I have found!'”
This is the revelation that is shaping my life today- embracing my sin is how I follow Jesus.
1 John 1:8-9 TPT
If we boast that we have no sin, we’re only fooling ourselves and are strangers to the truth. But if we freely admit our sins when his light uncovers them, he will be faithful to forgive us every time. God is just to forgive us our sins because of Christ, and he will continue to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
This is the revelation that is shaping my life today- the cost of discipleship is high and beautiful.
Luke 14:28,33 TPT
So don’t follow me without considering what it will cost you. For who would construct a house before first sitting down to estimate the cost to complete it? Likewise, unless you surrender all to me, giving up all you possess, you cannot be one of my disciples.
Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today- life is not what I see – true life is coming.
2 Peter 3:13-14 TPT
But as we wait, we trust in God’s royal proclamation to be fulfilled. There are coming heavens new in quality, and an earth new in quality, where righteousness will be fully at home. So, my beloved friends, with all that you have to look forward to, may you be eager to be found living pure lives when you come into his presence, without blemish and filled with peace.
