John 18:37 – Truth for Life

Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today…..

Then Pilate responded, “Oh, so then you are a king?” “You are right.” Jesus said, “I was born a King, and I have come into this world to prove what truth really is. And everyone who loves the truth will receive my words.”

Jesus did not come to establish a Kingdom in the manner of power and violence. Jesus came to establish a people who live by truth; they are the manifest presence of the Kingdom of God, as the Kingdom itself is truth for life. This is what it means to follow Jesus, it is to be people who live by truth. Truth that shapes life as intended by God for humanity from the beginning of time.

There are lots of versions of truth out there, in actual fact you get in trouble today for declaring that your version is true. In a world where truth is whatever you decide to make it, we get life lived based on individual tastes and desires. Truth is shaped by my cravings and experience. Jesus comes to offer the world a much more profound truth upon which to shape this planet, “everyone who loves the truth will receive my words.” The truth that Jesus puts forth, when disentangled from all the misinterpretations of religious handlers, is amazing truth upon which to structure life. It speaks to purpose, identity, hope and love, all the key questions that require answers to live life in the full. It’s a love of truth that draws me to Jesus, a love of the shaping principles for life that He invites me into and empowers me to live through.

Desire deeper the truth of the Kingdom. Drink in its fullness, not for its taste but it’s shape, and walk it out into life.

Thank you that you lead me into all truth, you are the way, the truth and life, thank you that you have given me a love for you and your truth. To know truth is the greatest gift of love, so thank you for blessing me so profoundly. I am blessed!

Spend some time in meditation. Where does the truth that shapes my life come from? How does it compare as a source of truth, with the offer of Jesus to be my source of truth for life?
