Hebrews 6:18 Hidden in God’s heart.

Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today – I was never meant to work hard to find life, it can’t be found in its fullness in the fullness of my efforts, it is waiting for me in the intimacy and fullness of God’s heart.

Hebrews 6:18 TPT
[18] And now we have run into his heart to hide ourselves in his faithfulness. This is where we find his strength and comfort, for he empowers us to seize what has already been established ahead of time-an unshakeable hope!

Observation

Observation
The life God invites me into is not one of personal strength and faithfulness. He invites me to himself and in himself, I find his faithfulness, strength, comfort, and power, and from this posture of being found in him I seize all that he has planned and established for life, “an unshakeable hope!” The world tells me if you want to make it you have to make it happen. It is an “up to you” dogma that drives me to strive and compete for success or destroys me under the weight of failure. But God says to me the opposite, it is in me, through me, by me, that you enter into the fullness of life.

So how do I lay down my striving and failures, and position myself in him? We stumble at this invitation because it is a supernatural invitation. We would rather have laws, rules and processes that we can follow, we would rather be told “what must I do to inherit,” rather than enter the mystical life of intimacy with God. We want logic and performance rather than intimacy and grace. And sometimes the church gives me logic and performance and I wonder where the beauty and good news have gone. It’s not that God not be logically inspected, but rather don’t be logically known. He is known as we accept his invitation to intimacy, his invitation to activate the spiritual part of my brain where his truth arrives with such weight that logic and circumstance can not dislodge my faith and resolve and trust.

The mystical life has a rhythm of stillness where God is met intimately, where we “run into his heart to hide ourselves.” It is in this hiddenness in him that his beauty, his faithfulness, his strength, his comfort, his peace, and his rest, are encountered and known. These are not logically interpreted as truth, but rather intimately encountered as truth. My heart listens in a way that my logical brain can not comprehend, it is superior knowledge. Unshakeable hope is not arrived at through logical interpretation and wilful dutiful trust, it is the home for those who are hidden in his heart. We are invited into his heart, do you hear that? Not to school, not to hard works, not to ‘it’s up to you,’ we are invited into an intimate personal encounter of the mystical nature. Stillness, contemplation, reflection, awareness, and being present to his presence, are where and how we run into his heart.

Application

I will be a heart man. I will live my life shaped by the mystical, engaging in the supernatural presence of my God. I will live in unshakeable hope from living in the intimacy of his heart.

Response

Thank you for the invitation to be incredibly loved. This invitation to run into your heart and live life from it is amazing, it’s a beautiful invitation upon which to structure and shape my life. All I need I find in you. I love this life.

Meditation

Where do you find unshakable hole, life?
Do you have mystical rhythms of intimate encounters in your life?
Here is the revelation that is shaping my life today – I was never meant to work hard to find life, it can’t be found in its fullness in the fullness of my efforts, it is waiting for me in the intimacy and fullness of God’s heart.
